Proverbs 16 : 9
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
August 2024, 09
The cold breeze woke me up early in the morning. Today is the day!
"I'm with you not by accident. ..."
I repeat the beginning of my short speech quietly in my head over and over again without her noticing.
The plan for this day is in God's hands.
I quietly get up, go over to the bathroom and hang the white dress in the shower.
Full of joy, I write a little note and put it on the sink in the bathroom.
With the words today we will go out and have a late lunch together.
Full of joy in my heart that this will be the day when I, Jona, so crazy, will propose to her.
I can´t hardly do more than thank God for what he does for me.
A good breakfast makes the morning. The sun slowly warms the cool wind that blows outside our apartment.
Bacon, omelets, juice, bread and yoghurt awaken our stomachs.
She complained about her fingernails after eating with her hands.
Then I said to her, I like it when you make them look beautiful. Then she later had her nails done.
The dress fits her so well. She loves it. She locks gorgeous.
As soon as she had finished with her nails we got ready to drive him into town.
Destination: Lilayi Lodge in the Pampa
After about almost 2 hours we found the winding lodge in the middle of the savannah in Lusaka.
Since I had planned with my friends that they would be there too, I had to somehow distract her from seeing our friends when they scurried around the back.
We had just had a conversation with the manager of the lodge about weddings at the lodge.
He was brilliant. He took us to one of their accommodations which was a little way from the entrance.
He didn't hesitate and took his time to show us everything. Our friends were able to sneak past us unseen. They prepared the place for the kneeling.
Chris with his camera, Wilfred with my drone and the others hid somewhere.
The red balloon...
... was attached to the railing of the small bridge that led to a small island.
Everyone was ready.
After our conversation with the manager we sat down and ate the late lunch as promised.
I mentioned a few times that I wanted to see the island again and that we could take a little walk to the island after dinner.
So things got serious.
Nervous, who asks? Not me.
Up until that point, I wasn't really nervous. But 2 minutes before the seriousness of the situation, my legs started to shake.
For some reason she couldn't see the red balloon. I, on the other hand, could see it from far away. It was good for me that she couldn't see it.
The moment came and we were walking towards the bridge and she said to me: Let's turn back, maybe someone has already planned something here.
I insisted that we at least look at the island. So we walked on the bridge and she walked and walked. She didn't want to stop.
I told her that there was a note there that she had to open. I wanted to know what was in it. 😉😂
She hesitated a little, but then she understood what was going on. She realized I had prepared something for her.
She slowly opened the rolled paper and read it slowly.
By the time she realized what it meant, I was already on my knee.
Tears, joy, love, laughter, music, kisses and hugs...
The Red Balloon and its history.
And if they didn't die then we are now ENGANGED!
Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers!
Please be so kind and leave your joy in comments and messages here under this blog post!
I would be happy to hear from you!
