Since 3 Years i have been Training young people. And God is watching over it.
Know i understand the reason why God wanted me to have a passion towards children and young people.
All started with an Idea of joining the ministry of Sports-Link. Last year, I am sure that most of you read and heard when i said i will be leading this ministry.
Now the challenge was that what Sportslink was doing was not for what I was coming to do in Zambia.
And as well our plans us as a couple didn't aline towards working as a Leader in Zambia. It required me to stay longer.
So something changed when God saw something in me working now together with the new Leader for Sports Link.
This Vision i have for the Hope Strikers is the one to go deep.
But let's start first with Last week and the training I had in the bush.
3 Days no network, Tuesday up to Thursday, 3 Days no big city, 3 days coaching with the future for those communities inside the unreached people groups.
The goal for this training was to proclaim the gospel from there to identify potential Leaders and then at last to make disciples.
The training was for me to understand what Sportslink is about and what we will do in future.
We were hosted by a lovely couple called Linda & George on their farm. Small nice house which was not even finished but enough to live there. Bananas, citrons and oranges where around us while we were teaching in a small traditional house.
For 3 days i have learned that even without knowing what i have been doing this 3 years is in God's greater Plan already included. Some pieces of a puzzle will eventually find their right place. I have learned that Coaching is the future of how we can use sports to make the bible known. Not only that, much more. We spread the gospel towards varies homes and workplaces.
As Coach we are a father figure. Someone to them they can look up to. As a Coach you give Hope,Love, guidance in their lives, comfort and so much more. It is not something light or easy to do. In our understanding of the Bible we need to be firstly be in Christ before sharing him to anybody.
As a Coach we are the ones identifying talents and God shows through us to them their identity in Christ. Our Life should be an example to those we have around us. It is a way of living out the gospel practically through Sports and Play.
Our job is to develop young adults in sports to become Leaders in Christ. VCJF - Vibrant Communities of JESUS Followers.
To be the most effective we need to start with the future of tomorrow.
Develop and disciple young PLayers and Coaches to continue the circle of Proclaiming the Gospel. Making Disciples and obeying the Bible!
So if you think the Hope Strikers is a small thing to do. Then I hope you know now that it is more than that.
IT IS WHOLE LIFE COACHING.
You know we only had maybe 10 participants who attend the training. Only ONE of them is serious about what we do and for who we do it.
3 Days where a short time but it was very effective in the way that the Gospel spread and people who never believed that sports can change a life forever. Can see it now!
We did not only teach but we had practically used sports for the gospel. On the last day we went from where we were staying 3 km to a complete bush sports ground to teach and to preach the gospel.
Adventure pure with beautiful faces smiling over their faces.
I was the one sharing the gospel and it was a pure privilege to do that.
Linda and George are also missionaries their where they are. Working as Game Changers in their community to reach elders and children with the gospel. Through farming they share principles and parables from the Bible towards the community.
It is incredible to see that happening. You will see the place soon. As i took my drone with me to capture here and there some pictures and videos.
But this is not the end. Why am i saying so. This training made me realize what kind of future i have and what kind of future the Hope Strikers have.
Since a couple of weeks i have joined SportsLink and the vision the Leader and I have for the future is coming into practice.
To explain that it will take a lot of time. That's why i decided to do a short video to explain that:
